is a construction from human hand through and through. This living space is made from humans for human. That's why the town is just as attractive as ever. Other living beings are supported, tolerated or controled at human's own discretion.

The soil is permanently sealed and built over. The areas of the town increase, even if the number of population stays constant or decreases. More and more conurbations arise, in which one town goes into another.

Compared with natural economic systems there almost don't exist closed cycles in the town. That's why towns to a high degree depend on the supply of natural products, f.i. water and all kinds of food. The energy also must be imported from a further reaching catchment area, but there is almost no use for the solar energy on-the-spot.

Even the air currents from further areas are essential for life, because the deoxygenating processes take place in the town, but comparable small amounts of oxygen are set free.

The town has its own climate compared with its surroundings:

-The town is warmer than its surrounding (Island of heat)

   The stone desert "town" stores the heat. Areas of vegetation cool off, because of the    vaporisation. Besides the town heats off in winter because of the imported energy (mostly fossile fuel). The average temperatures can be upto 8 ° higher in the city centre than in its surrounding countryside.

-The town is dry (Stone-Desert)

   Although the particles of dust in the air increase the frequence of the fog, it rains even more in the town, but it's comparatively dry. Residual water vaporizes fairly quickly on the warm surfaces. The ground water is lowered by the lay of sewers, the sealing of areas and the constant extraction.

-The town has a rough surface

   The buildings seriously changed the exchange of air masses. The circulation became difficult because of the "street gorges". The different warming up of the building parts increases this effect. The town has a low exchange of air with the surrounding countryside. Because of the traffic and the heating system there is "bad air" or even "smog".
